# Monitor email delivery and configure failure alerts

> Track outbound email status in Raley Emails Notifications, inspect delivery logs, and configure admin alerts so you are notified about bounces and failures.

## Overview

Raley continuously monitors outgoing email delivery. When a delivery failure occurs — such as an SMTP connection error, OAuth2 problem, or authentication failure — the system records it and can alert administrators automatically.

## Send Audit

The **Send Audit** tab is the primary tool for reviewing notification delivery.

* Go to **Apps → Raley Emails Notifications → Send Audit**
* Filter by notification name, issue key, recipient, or status
* Entries with **Status = Error** include a description of the failure reason

Common error types visible in the audit:

* SMTP connection failure
* OAuth2 token expired
* Template evaluation error
* Insufficient Jira permissions to read the required fields

## Admin Delivery Alerts

Jira administrators can enable automatic email alerts when delivery failures are detected.

**To enable monitoring alerts:**

1. Go to **Apps → Raley Emails Notifications → Settings**
2. Find the **Monitoring** section
3. Enter one or more email addresses (comma-separated) where alert digests should be sent
4. Save

The monitoring system runs **hourly**. If delivery failures occurred in the previous hour, a summary email is sent to the configured addresses. The summary includes:

* The notification name that failed
* The failure reason
* The number of affected emails

**Monitoring emails are sent from:** `notifications@raleyapps.com`

## When No Monitoring Is Configured

If no monitoring email is configured, delivery failures will only be visible in the Send Audit tab. Users won't be notified automatically. It is strongly recommended to configure at least one monitoring recipient for production instances.
