> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://docs.raleyapps.com/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # Create and manage purchase orders inside Jira > Use Raley Purchase Orders to generate POs, route them through approval workflows, track budgets, and send formatted PDF orders to suppliers from Jira. ## Overview The Purchase Orders module brings the full procurement lifecycle into Jira — from initial purchase requests through approvals, budget tracking, goods receipt, and reporting. ## Creating Your First Purchase Order **Prerequisites:** Suppliers and products must be configured before creating a PO. See [Managing Suppliers and Products](/apps/procurement/managing-suppliers-and-products). **Required role:** Finance 1. Open your Jira project and go to **Apps → Purchase Orders** 2. Click **Create new purchase order** 3. Select the **Supplier** from your configured supplier list 4. Select the **Currency** for this order (defaults to your project default) 5. Add **order lines** — choose a product from the supplier's catalog and enter the quantity 6. Review the calculated totals (unit prices, tax, discounts) 7. Click **Save** — the PO is created with status **Draft** ## Submitting for Approval 1. Open the saved PO and confirm all order lines are correct 2. Click **Submit for Approval** 3. The PO status changes to **Pending Approval** and the assigned approver is notified 4. The approver opens the PO and clicks **Approve** or **Reject** 5. On approval, the status advances to **Approved** and the PO is ready to action For multi-level approval configuration, go to **Project Settings → Purchase Orders → Approval Tiers**. ## Recording Goods Receipt When ordered items arrive: 1. Open the approved PO 2. Click **Receive Goods** 3. Enter the quantities received for each order line (partial receipts are supported) 4.
